Customer portal in Odoo project

Any successful project needs a highly proactive client engagement in different stages. Odoo project management comes up with a feature that simplifies the customer engagement in different stages of a project, thus streamline the workflow of the project and improve the quality of the deliverables.

→  The Customer can analyze his project related tasks, timesheets, issues and their status through customer portal in Odoo. For this, you have to set the project privacy as “Visible by following customers” in project settings. By giving your customer the portal access, he can view the progress of his project as well as can interact with your organization.

→  You have to install “Website Project” and “Timesheet in Website Portal” apps from Odoo apps to access this features.

Portal Access Management:

To give Portal access to a customer

Project > Configuration > Project > Select the Project

  • Click on the customer

Actions > Portal Access Management

  • Click on the email of the user (to whom we want to give access)
  • Tick Portal access

An invitation mail will send automatically to the customer with Username and Password to his portal. He can log in to your site and see the entire project on the website.

 

The customer can message to project management team through his portal, and such messages will be appended to Project details
