Each year, Odoo introduces a new version with new features that helps to improve the performance of modules included in the software. Recently, Odoo has been upgraded from 14 to 15. We will be looking at the major differences between Odoo 15 and Odoo14 in the following passages of this blog.
The latest version of Odoo is packed with efficient tools and features that help to elevate the operational efficiency of the modules. Let’s look at the advantages of migrating to Odoo 15 from Odoo 14.
Based on the status of the Sales Order, the lines in the list view of the Sales Dashboard can be viewed in different colors.
In Odoo 14, you can see the color difference for the status only.
Using the toggle studio, the user can customize the pivot view of the sales Dashboard according to the requirements.
The Product management window in the Sales, Purchase, and Inventory modules in Odoo 15 includes a new icon to add a product to the favorite list. The star icon near the title of the product can be used to mark the product as your favorite. This feature is available in all available views on this platform.
Additionally, you can filter your favorite products using the corresponding filtering option available in Odoo 15.
While configuring a product in the Product Configuration window, it is possible to configure the product as a gift card by specifying the Product Type as Gift Card.
The Print Label option is a new feature in Odoo 15 which is not in the earlier versions. Using this feature, you can print customized labels for the products.
The layout of the label can be decided by mentioning the Quantity, Format, and Extra Contest in the pop-up window that appears after clicking on the Print Label button.
In Odoo 15, users will get a new Product Attribute Display Type called Pills. These Display Types will define how to display attributes on your eCommerce site. The eCommerce Filter Visibility option can be used to decide whether you want to show this attribute in the eCommerce filter or not.
The Related Products are shown in a separate tab in Odoo 14. But in Odoo 15, you will get the list of Related Products inside a smart button as marked in the image above.
The options to configure UoM and UoM categories can be found under the submenu called Unit of Measure in the Configuration menu which was earlier included under the Products sub-menu in the Configuration menu of Odoo 14.
In Odoo 14, new UoM categories can be created from the list view itself. Odoo 15 introduces a new UoM Configuration window to create a new UoM which will appear after clicking on the Create button.
In the Settings menu of the Purchase module, you will get the Product Packaging option to activate that helps to define the Packaging Type and Quantity while creating Purchase orders.
Earlier, this option was available under the Sales module only whereas in Odoo 15, the user can find the Product Packaging feature in the Sales, Purchase, and Inventory modules.
Odoo 15 offers you a smart button called Extra Prices in the Product Configuration window that can be used to add an extra pricelist for the products.
Under the reporting menu of the Odoo 15 Purchase module, two reporting options are available such as Purchase Analysis and Dashboard. Dashboard reporting is a new feature in Odoo 15 which assists a user to examine the purchase-related activities configured in the Purchase module.
In the Delivery Orders that are not yet validated, you will get a new field called Product Availability which will show the status of the latest product availability.
From the List view of Transfers, the user can easily check the availability using the Check Availability button which will appear after selecting the required Transfers.
Using the Wave Transfer feature in Odoo 15, the user can group different wave operations and process them together. Select the transfers that you want to add to the wave and use the Add to Wave option available in the Actions menu.
All created and updated waves can be found under the Wave Transfers sub-menu included in the Operations menu in Odoo 15.
In Odoo 15, Inventory Adjustments can be easily done from the list view itself. When you mention the Counted Quantity of the product, you will get the difference between On Hand Quantity and Counted Quantity in the List view.
The History button will display the previous adjustment done on each product. You can save the inventory adjustments to the system using the Apply button. The quantities can be updated using the Set button. If you want to clear the changes made in the inventory adjustments, use the Clear button.
While configuring Operation Types, you will get the Reservation Method option which defines how products in transfers of this operation type should be reserved. In odoo 14, this option can be found under the Settings menu of the Inventory module.
To manage and categorize warehouse locations for smarter putaway rules, Odoo 15 has enabled an effective platform called Storage Categories accessible under the Configuration menu.
The Reception Reports will be helpful to view and allocate received quantities which is a new feature in Odoo 15. After enabling this option from the Settings menu of the module, you can activate the field called Show Reception Report at Validation which helps to automatically open the reception report when a receipt is validated.
A smart button will be available on the receipt as shown above that will direct you to the reception report.
The Accounting module in Odoo 15 provides a new feature to create 1099 Reports 1099 Boxes. The corresponding option can be found under the Management tab in the Reporting menu. Use this option to generate a 1099 report CSV file.
FEC Import is a new feature available in the French Localization of Odoo 15 Enterprise edition. You will get access to this feature from the Configuration menu of the module. The user can effortlessly import existing FEC files from older software using this feature.
Odoo 15 includes new Payment Acquirers such as Mollie and Ogone that support a wide range of payment methods to simplify the payment procedures.
Odoo 15 supports Nacha Payment which is acceptable in the United States to pay or schedule mass vendor’s bills.
Customer relation Management
The Rule-Based Assignment is a new feature in Odoo 15 that can be used to automatically assign leads to the sales team according to the rules defined in the particular field under the Settings menu of the module.
It is possible to assign a single salesperson into multiple Sales Teams in the Odoo 15 CRM module. The Muti Teams option under the Settings menu of the module is a new feature that is not available in Odoo 14.
An advanced smart button will be available in Odoo 15 to examine similar leads reported in the CRM module.
The Reporting menu in the CRM menu includes a new reporting option called Forcast that helps to generate CRM Forecasting Reports.

Filter by Prices
Odoo 15 introduced a new price range filter on the eCommerce page that helps the customer to filter the products based on their prices.
You can activate the Share Button from the Customize menu available in the product description window in order to display share buttons on the product page to share information through various social media platforms.
From the Configuration menu of the Odoo Website module, a user can easily configure new gift cards.
It is possible to pay with a gift card while purchasing products from the eCommerce site in Odoo 15.
Sort by Newest Arrival
On the eCommerce page, Odoo offers a new sorting option that benefits a customer to sort the products based on the newest arrival.
Base Unit Price
The Setting menu of the Website module includes a new feature called Base Unit Price. This is used to set the price for a product per base unit of measures.
At the time of product configuration, you can specify the Base Unit Count in the product description tab. As shown in the image below, the price per unit can be seen on your eCommerce page.
To enhance the website designing process, Odoo introduced many new snippets and styling tools in the editing panel available on the Website Building System of the latest version.
The Donation snippet can be used to add a donation field to your website.
The user can easily design a website using HTML codes with the help of the Embed Code snippet.
The Gradient option is a new feature in Odoo 15 which is a styling tool used to apply color gradients on texts and buttons.
Various shapes can be used to design the background of the website using the Shapes available in the Background Styling tools.
Search snippets in Odoo 15 will provide a search bar on your website that helps customers to search for required data on your website.
In Odoo 15, you can check and control the visibility of your website on a mobile phone using the Mobile Preview option.
Custom Display Screen
The Custom Display Screen option in the Settings module can be enabled to show checkout to customers through a second screen. This feature will be helpful for customers to view the item they are purchasing.
It is possible to add notes on Order Lines to be printed on receipts and invoices by activating the Customer Note option from the Settings menu.
The info button on the Point of Sale window will display all necessary information related to the selected product.
In Odoo 15, you will get a new shipping policy which is called Ship Later. After completing payment, the product can be shipped later according to this shipping policy.
The List view available in the Recruitment module contains a new option to add new fields to the List view.
You can add any custom fields to the window using the Add Custom Field option which is not available in Odoo 14.

The Contracts menu in the Odoo 15 Payroll module includes a new platform to manage salary attachments.
You can also find a new reporting option also in the Payroll module to generate reports about the recorded Salary Attachments.
Accrual Plan is a beneficial feature in Odoo 15 that helps employees to accrue their paid time offs and use it later in emergency situations.
A company can keep a record of public holidays in the Odoo Time Off module with the help of the Public Holidays option in the Configuration menu.
